SUSTAINABILITY AT QUANTUM
At Quantum Traffic Management we believe that a successful business is a responsible business. We are committed to operating sustainably, not just as a duty to our planet and community, but as a core value that guides our long-term strategy, innovation, and growth. We always strive to minimise our environmental impact, act as a good neighbour in our community, and build a resilient, ethical, and prosperous business for our employees and customers.
Our current business focus areas:
Our climate is undergoing significant changes, the consequences of which are causing issues, such as extreme heat, wildfires, and flooding, which are already affecting many communities.
Experts are clear in their warning: we must take immediate action, or the impacts of climate change will become even more severe.
Quantum have set bold targets for the reduction in its Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions, to ensure we have attained Carbon Net Zero by 2050.
- HVO Fuels: Currently investigating the potential switch which could reduce Net Carbon emissions by over 90%, this requires significant investment in fuel storage at depots, but this technology appears to be far more suitable than electrified fleet, especially with the HGV’s.
- Electric powered vehicles: The current status of electric vehicle is not suitable to utilise in all traffic management vehicles ( HGV’s) but site pickups, welfare vehicles and personal vehicles are suitable.
- Hydrogen powered vehicles: Hydrogen/Electric Hybrid technology appears to gaining momentum in the Heavy Good Vehicle market with suitable range capability to directly replace fossil fuel powered, we will be closely monitoring the industry switch.

Waste MinimisatioN
In order to deliver resource efficiency through our operations, It is evident that we must transition from merely managing the waste we generate to adopting design-driven circular economy principles.
These principles will aim to eliminate waste and pollution while ensuring that products and materials are circulated to significantly extend product lifecycles.
Quantum have implemented targets to reduce waste on a revenue intensity basis, ensuring that these targets can work in conjunction with our significant business growth.
Current initiatives being investigated/implemented:
- Modification of internal processes that utilise single use technology to multiple use systems, and working on source reduction in service delivery purchasing to contribute to overall waste minimisation
Community Benefits
To deliver long lasting social benefits to the communities where we operate, we have embedded sustainability as a core principle in our operations, creating employment and training opportunities, supporting small, local supply chain partners, monetary, time and material donations to local charities and providing significant sponsorship opportunities, to local sporting teams and individuals.
Quantum Directors have agreed a percentage of its operating profit, to be set aside over the coming years, to continue to provide training, donations and sponsorship, to benefit future generations in the communities in which we operate.
